By accessing or using TallyWord ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

Description of Service

TallyWord is a free, web-based character and word counting tool. It includes an optional AI Shrink feature that uses the Claude API (provided by Anthropic) to rewrite text to fit within a platform's character limit. The Service is provided free of charge and is supported by advertising.

Use of the Service

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these terms. You agree not to:

Use the Service in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations
Submit text that contains illegal content, hate speech, or material that infringes on third-party rights
Attempt to circumvent rate limits, abuse the AI Shrink feature, or overload our servers
Use automated scripts or bots to access the Service in a manner that exceeds normal usage
Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service

AI Shrink — Usage Limits

The AI Shrink feature is available free of charge up to a daily limit per user. We reserve the right to adjust this limit at any time. Excessive or abusive usage may result in temporary or permanent suspension of access to this feature.

AI-generated content is produced by Anthropic's Claude model. TallyWord does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of any AI-generated rewrite. You are responsible for reviewing and editing any output before publishing it.

Intellectual Property

Text you enter into TallyWord remains your own. We do not claim any ownership over the content you submit. The TallyWord name, logo, and underlying code are the property of their respective owners and may not be reproduced without permission.

Advertising

TallyWord is supported by ads served through Google AdSense. By using the Service and accepting cookies, you agree that Google may display personalized or non-personalized ads. We are not responsible for the content of third-party advertisements.

Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. Your use of the Service is at your sole risk.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, TallyWord and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service — including any reliance on AI-generated content.

Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with third-party providers including Anthropic (AI), Google AdSense (ads), and Vercel (hosting). Your use of the Service is also subject to those providers' terms and privacy policies.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. We will update the date at the top of this page when changes are made.
