Overview
TallyWord ("we", "our", or "us") is a free character and word counter tool for social media. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and what we do not do with it.
Text You Enter
Text you type or paste into TallyWord is processed entirely in your browser for counting purposes. We do not store, log, or retain your text.
When you use the AI Shrink feature, your text is sent to Anthropic via their API to generate shorter rewrites. Anthropic's own privacy policy governs how they handle API data. We do not store your text or the AI-generated responses on our servers.
Local Storage
TallyWord stores your daily AI Shrink usage count in your browser's local storage. This is used solely to enforce the free daily limit. It contains no personally identifiable information and never leaves your device.
Analytics
We use Vercel Speed Insights to understand page performance. This tool collects anonymized performance metrics (e.g., load times) and does not use cookies or track individual users. No text you enter is included in analytics data.
Advertising
TallyWord may display ads served by Google AdSense. Google may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
Cookies & Consent
TallyWord itself does not set cookies. When you first visit, a consent banner will ask whether you accept cookies for advertising purposes. If you accept, Google AdSense may set cookies in your browser to serve relevant ads. If you decline, no advertising cookies are set and no ads will be loaded.
You can change your preference at any time by clearing your browser's local storage or adjusting cookie settings in your browser.
No Account Required
TallyWord does not require you to create an account, provide an email address, or share any personal information to use the tool.
Children's Privacy
TallyWord is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date at the top.
